Inventory Reporting
Inventory is required for IDeaS RMS to trigger processing which optimizes forecasts and decisions that the RMS produces. We refer to processing as Business Day End (BDE) and Intra-Day Processing (IDP).
If the PMS/CRS also supports component room / virtual room functionality, provide the additional payload to report Out of Order by Room Number by Occupancy Date. The inventory Out of Order by Room Number yaml is coming soon.
Inventory by Room Type
Inventory messages are expected to always be a full overlay, providing all dates and room types with every submission, regardless if there are changes to room types, sold or Out of Order changes. Inventory must be provided as single entry by date for each room type within the date range provided.
Zero-Capacity Room Type / Non-Sleeping Rooms Reporting
Do not include room types that are non-physical room types, such as pseudo/accounting room types, and meeting rooms in the inventory sent to IDeaS.
Inventory Handling
As inventory is broken out into smaller payloads, each payload must contain all room types for the dates reported in the payload. In addition, the dates in the payload must be consecutive, without gaps between dates.
Reporting Reservations and Group Counts in Summary Counts
Below is an example of reservations and groups block remaining availability (Block minus Pickup). Accurately representing group and reservation data in the Inventory Sold Counts is required.

Inventory Sold Count Formula: (Block-Pickup) + Reservations = Sold Count
Inventory Reporting for Intra Day Processing (IDP)
To support the IDeas RMS functionality for Intra Day Processing (IDP), the submission of Inventory should be the same as the daily submissions with up to 45 days past and a minimum of 365 days future.
Component Rooms / Virtual Suites
If the PMS/CRS supports Composite Suites, Component Rooms, or Virtual Suites, we require correct reporting on component room inventory. Integration testing will be required to add functionality to support Component Rooms.

Combined/Complex Suites Scenario:
Reservation Reporting for Component Rooms / Virtual Suites
Report only reservations for the Component Room that is booked. IDeaS does not expect to receive reservation messages for the physical rooms that make up the component room.
Group Block Reporting for Component Rooms / Virtual Suites
When Group Blocks hold inventory for Component Room Types, the Group Block should only report the Component Room Type and not include the Physical Room Types which make up the Component Rooms on the Group Block message.
Inventory Reporting for Component Rooms / Virtual Suites
- Report virtual capacity (count) for the component rooms.
- Report physical capacity for the physical room types.
- Report rooms sold and Out of Order counts for both the physical room types and component rooms.
- If reporting transient sold counts and group sold counts, these sold counts should only reflect for the physical room types.
